A QME appointment isn't booked like a regular doctor's visit — it goes through the workers' compensation process. Here's how scheduling works, and how the state's selection rules decide which doctor evaluates you.
Your QME date is arranged through your claim — by your attorney or the claims administrator, working with The Guardian Group, our scheduling management company. You'll receive an appointment notice with the exact date, office, and suite.
Your attorney and the claims administrator request the evaluation and set the date with our office. You don't need to arrange anything yourself.
When the state sends you a list (a "panel") of three QME doctors, you choose one and schedule the appointment yourself — within 10 days. If you don't choose in time, the claims administrator chooses for you.
Both are independent medical evaluations used to resolve disputes in a workers' compensation claim. The difference is how the doctor is chosen.
The state's Medical Unit issues a random list of three QME doctors in a given specialty. Who picks from that list depends on whether you have an attorney:
An AME is a physician jointly selected by the represented injured worker and the claims administrator to evaluate disputed medical issues. Instead of using the state panel, the parties agree on the physician directly.
A panel QME has to be chosen through the state's process before any appointment can exist. Which route applies depends on representation:
Your attorney can determine which selection route applies.
You may generally select Dr. Delisser only if her name appears on the QME panel issued for your claim.
A photo ID, your medication list, and any imaging discs you were asked to bring. Arrive 15 minutes early for intake paperwork. Directions for every office are on the locations page.
Or email admin@thekeytone.com. Our office can confirm appointment logistics — but changes to the evaluation itself go through your attorney or claims administrator. One thing you never need to worry about: the evaluation is paid through your claim — there is no bill to you.
What our office can and cannot do. KeyTone Medical cannot place Dr. Delisser on a panel or advise either side whom to strike. The practice can provide credentials, office locations, and availability, then schedule once the physician has been selected through the appropriate process.
