Nondiscrimination and language access.

Effective July 20, 2026

Our commitment

KeyTone Medical gives patients, medical-legal examinees, companions, visitors, and members of the public respectful and equal access to our services. We follow the federal and California civil rights laws that apply to our practice.

Notice of nondiscrimination

KeyTone Medical does not discriminate against, exclude, deny services to, or treat any person less favorably because of race, color, ancestry, national origin, citizenship, immigration status, primary language, religion, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

Assistance for people with disabilities

We provide reasonable modifications and appropriate communication aids and services, free of charge, when they are needed for effective communication and equal access to our care. Depending on your needs, this may include:

  • Qualified sign-language or other disability-related interpreters
  • Video remote interpreting
  • Real-time captioning
  • Assistive listening services
  • Accessible electronic documents
  • Large-print, audio, or other alternative formats
  • Additional time or another reasonable modification needed for effective communication

Necessary disability-related aids and services are provided at no cost to the person who needs them. These services are scheduled ahead of your visit, so please tell us about a communication need when you book your appointment, and as early as you can. Advance notice helps us have the right arrangements in place; it is not a condition of receiving assistance, and we will work with you to find an effective method of communication.

Spoken-language assistance

When a spoken-language interpreter is needed for meaningful access to our care, or is otherwise required by law, KeyTone Medical arranges qualified interpretation at no charge to you — by phone, video, or in person. Translated written information may also be provided when appropriate. You are not required to bring or pay for your own interpreter for a visit our office is responsible for arranging.

Interpreter services are scheduled in advance, so please tell us your preferred spoken language and any interpreter need when you book your appointment. The earlier we know, the more reliably we can have a qualified interpreter ready for your visit.

We do not rely on a minor child to interpret. An adult family member or friend may help at your request when that is appropriate, though we may still use a qualified interpreter when accuracy, confidentiality, informed decision-making, or safety calls for it.

QME, AME, and SIBTF evaluations

For a Qualified Medical Evaluation, Agreed Medical Evaluation, SIBTF evaluation, or another medical-legal examination, interpreter authorization, scheduling, and payment are governed by the workers' compensation process — they are not arranged by our office. Tell the scheduling organization, your attorney, or the claims administrator about any interpreter or accessibility need as early as possible, and name the language. KeyTone Medical cooperates with the responsible parties to support qualified interpretation, effective communication, and disability access during the evaluation.

How to request assistance

To request an interpreter, an accessible document, a communication aid, or another accommodation, call (650) 229-7395, use the contact form on this website, or email admin@thekeytone.com. Tell us the language, format, or accommodation you need and, when you know it, the date and location of your appointment. Please do not include detailed medical information in an ordinary email or website message. California Relay Service is reached by dialing 711.
